
About Me
Milan Alexis Richardson, a standout student and passionate leader, is committed to education, social impact, and creative entrepreneurship. Ranked in the top 25% at Marlborough School, she has broadened her academic experience through college-level courses at Harvard, the Los Angeles Film Academy, and Spelman College’s Early College Program, maintaining an impressive 4.1 GPA. Milan is particularly fascinated by the intersection of social psychology and filmmaking, exploring the influence of stereotypes on behavior and the transformative power of storytelling.
Milan’s leadership journey began with Tony Hsieh’s The Knowledge Society (TKS), where she contributed to innovative projects in cellular agriculture and eye care, honing her entrepreneurial and problem-solving skills. As Co-President of Marlborough’s African American Cultural Exchange (AACE), she works to build a supportive community for Black women, while also serving on the board of the Violets Giving Circle, which advocates for vulnerable populations. Additionally, Milan writes insightful fashion columns for Marlborough publications.
As a creative entrepreneur, Milan is the founder of her personal brand, milan made, where she designs award-winning gowns and directs impactful content, including music videos, promotional materials, and short films for nonprofits and organizations such as Kengen. Her music video “ØNLY ME” was a finalist at the Westflix Film Festival.
A cultural anthropologist at heart, Milan uses her artistic platforms to challenge societal norms and elevate marginalized voices. Outside of her work, she enjoys music, travel, and spending time with those she loves. Milan’s journey in creativity, leadership, and community impact is just beginning, and she is driven by a deep passion to make a meaningful difference.

College Goals
I am incredibly blessed to be attending Spelman College to get my Masters Degree in Sociology with a minor in film management. I am so excited to continue to solidify my confidence in my ability as a Black woman. The the uplifting sisterhood and nurturing support system that makes this college special will surely catapult me to my full potential. As a first year, I am bright eyed and ambitious. I am more than ready to take on every opportunity that comes my way. Here are a few of my goals for my first year:
